Lindsay back in the studio?

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly desperate to revive her singing career. Lohan, in rehab for the third time this year, wants to get back into the recording studio, according to insiders. She is due to deliver a third album for her label, and she has told her assistants that she wants to make it happen. "Lindsay loves music," says a friend. "She loves writing songs. She has let execs know she's ready to deliver the album." A music exec said, "A record by Lindsay Lohan costs almost nothing to make. She doesn't need a big band. You just give her some songs and session musicians. And, God knows, she already has name recognition." Maybe Lohan realizes she will be hard-pressed to find a film company willing to insure her given her behavior over the past year.

Lindsay Lohan has been sued for an undisclosed amount for assault and negligence by a passenger who was in the car allegedly chased by the actress shortly before her DUI arrest last month. "Someone could easily have been killed or seriously hurt because of her irresponsible decisions that evening." The woman's attorney says, "My client, Tracie Rice, thought she was going to die that night, and wants Ms. Lohan to be held accountable because Lohan's behavior was so extreme and outrageous. Ms. Rice is still traumatized from the incident." Lohan's rep has not commented.

Lindsay and Louis Vuitton: the end of an affair

From today's New York Post:

"Lindsay Lohan, who vanished after her arrest 10 days ago and is said to be confined at a California rehab - possibly the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage - was once in the running to be the new face of Louis Vuitton. But after a disastrous Elle magazine shoot two months ago, the luxury line will no longer even lend her clothes. 'Louis Vuitton had sent over some samples for her to wear in the shoot,' said a snitch. 'Lindsay kept shoving clothes into her bag, and a stylist's assistant kept getting them out of the bag, only to have Lindsay keep trying to take them. She ended up walking off with a very expensive shirt and some other items - which screwed Louis Vuitton because they were set to go to Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar for other shoots. They were furious and kept trying to get their clothes back, but...Lindsay walked out with them and never returned calls.' The issue hits stands today, in which she's asked about the photo shoot and replies, 'I wanted everything. There was this Cartier watch, and I was like, 'What do I have to do to get this watch?' Reps for Louis Vuitton, Elle and Lohan didn't return calls."

911: "Santa Monica Police, what's the emergency?"

Caller: "Yes sir, I'm on Montana. Is he behind you? Is he behind you?"

We're at 4th and Wilshire, we're coming down right now, we're being followed by a white GMC, the gentleman jumped out of the car, and OH MY GOD, SIR, THEY'RE FOLLOWING US. WE NEED HELP."

We were just coming home...and all of a sudden he came down a side street... We're driving to the police station...sir, please? The gentleman came out of his car. [inaudible] AAAAHHH, oh my God! What is he doing? Oh my God, oh my God... Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! [Screaming...police sirens in background].

Ali Lohan's take

Lindsay Lohan's 13-year-old sister Ali has spoken out against her father Michael, claiming he was an absentee dad and that he is responsible for Lindsay's self-esteem issues. The younger Lohan sent the following email to 24sizzler.com:

"Hi david this is ali lohan, i want everybody to know the truth out there. My mom is a single mom of four children she has always been there for us, she was my mother and father and still is. My father is telling all lies to people and saying he was such a great dad and was always there for us, my father was never there for us, My mom was always there souporting [sic] us. i think that the whole reason why my sister is upset with her self and not as cofident [sic], is because of my dad not being around, and always staying out late and not coming home for days, he would come back home never himself, he was always was making excuses for his bad behavior. And would always blame my mother. He just wants everybody in the world knowing that he was a great dad. He wasnt that is all a lie. I just want my sister to stick throught [sic] this okay, and my mother and brothers and i are there for my sister 100% and have always been. I've wanted to say this for so long and get this out there and let everyone know that our family is like a normal family but of course we are put under a microscope because of lindsays fame, lindsay will be fine she is just going through a rough time right now but she will be fine. i know this for a fact. My sisters is just like a normal sister. her and I have so much in common. My mother and sister are huge insperations [sic] to me, they have made it through so much in there lives.
Thankyou for your time god bless, Ali"

Okay, you have to feel somewhat sorry for these kids, considering how f-ed up their parents seem to be. Still, shouldn't Ali's "momager" have recommended a proofread?

Lindsay gets packed

Lindsay Lohan's assistants were photographed filling up her Cadillac Escalade with boxes and bags. Lohan's location since her arrest early Tuesday has not been revealed, the the amount of stuff being packed looks like more than a week's worth.

Lindsay proclaims innocence

Lindsay Lohan spoke to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush about her arrest early yesterday morning, proclaiming her innocence. "Yes. I am innocent...did not do drugs they're not mine," Lohan said, adding, "I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy." Police received a call in the early hours of Tuesday morning from someone claiming they were being chased in their car. When they arrived at the parking lot of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, they found Lohan arguing with the mother of her former assistant Tarin. Lohan was arrested and booked at the police station, where officers found cocaine in her pants pocket and registered her blood alcohol level as between .12 and .13. "I was almost hit by my assistant Tarin's mom," the actress told Bush. In a press conference held yesterday, a police lieutenant said that the mother of Lohan's personal assistant was driving the car being chased by Lohan. "Just prior to the chase - I'm not exactly sure how long prior - the personal assistant had quit," he said.

More on the Lindsay Lohan story

Lindsay Lohan has returned to rehab, though not to Promises in Malibu. Her lawyer issued a statement earlier today that reads, "Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care." Police say the monitoring device did not help in notifying them that Lohan was allegedly driving under the influence early this morning. Her scheduled appearance on the Tonight Show this evening has been canceled, and an arraignment has been set for August 24 at 8:30 a.m.

Lindsay busted for DUI and cocaine possession

Alcohol-monitoring bracelet or not - Lindsay Lohan was arrested in Santa Monica early this morning for driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custodial facility and driving on a suspended license. The actress was stopped after police responded to a call from passengers in a black Cadillac Escalade who said they were being chased by a white Denali SUV - driven by Lohan. The passengers in the Cadillac knew Lohan, but claim they did not realize she was chasing them. After a field sobriety test, the Bobby actress was arrested for DUI and taken to the Santa Monica police station, where cocaine was found in her pants pocket. Two weeks ago, Lohan checked herself out of Promises rehab facility in Malibu after more than six weeks of substance abuse treatment. She is already facing a DUI and misdemeanor hit and run charges in connection with her arrest on Memorial Day, for which she turned herself in to the Beverly Hills police station last week.

Nude Lohan photos?

Lindsay Lohan is worried about another possible photo scandal in the wake of reports that nude photos of her taken by one-time fling Calum Best have been stolen by a computer hacker. A celebrity gossip website claims to have obtained the photos and is threatening to publish them. The owner of celebslam.com has published what he says is a G-mail chat between himself and Lohan in which the actress wrote, "All I know is that someone broke into my computer and left a file on my desktop saying he got the pictures Cal took from me naked." Lohan's rep says of the issue, "Anything is possible. I know nothing about it, but her lawyers have been contacted."

Lohan BFF sues blogs

DJ and Lindsay Lohan BFF Samantha Ronson is suing two celebrity gossip blogs for $20 million. Ronson filed a libel suit in LA Superior Court on Thursday against Sunset Photo and News Agency blogger Jill Ishkanian and infamous Perez Hilton founder Mario Lavandeira, based on the suggestion that the cocaine found in Lohan's car the night of her Memorial Day weekend car accident was actually hers. In June, a story appeared on celebritybabylon.com, which is run by Sunset Photo, and was picked up by Perez Hilton, claiming that Ronson was "making a tidy profit on the side, shilling Lohan, 20, out to photographers eager to get her photo looking passed out and wasted... If that wasn't shocking enough, sources say that it was Ronson who was holding the cocaine later found in Lindsay's car."

Lindsay checks out of rehab

Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab and back on the party scene. The Georgia Rule star's rep released a statement on Sunday that said, "On Friday, July 13, 2007, Lindsay Lohan successfully completed her 45 days of residential and extended care treatment at Promises. She has transitioned to an intensive outpatient program, which includes attendance at daily AA meetings, outpatient therapy and daily testing. On her own, she has also made the decision in support of her sobriety to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet. In part she is wearing the bracelet so there are no questions about her sobriety if she chooses to go dancing or dining in a place where alcohol is served.... She's doing great. Lindsay is working hard on her sobriety and we are all supporting her." Lohan headed to Pure nightclub in Vegas this weekend for a surprise birthday party, where she was spotted sipping Red Bull, ankle bracelet intact.

Rehab changed Lindsay's life

Lindsay Lohan tells Tatler mag that she is a changed woman since checking into rehab in Malibu in May. "I didn't have a good grip on [life] and I needed to get my s**t together," the Georgia Rule star says. "I was going out too much and I had too much pressure on my shoulders. I was not that happy and I needed to go to that place to be happy. If I get stressed out I say a serenity prayer. I meditate too." Lohan says she also uses Machiavelli's The Prince, written in the sixteenth century by the political philosopher, as a self-help guide.
