She is not in a private room, but shares with two roommates. Lohan is on dishes, laundry and toilet cleaning duties just like everyone else, and doctors inside say she has been cooperative from the start. A friend of Lindsay Lohan says the star is settling nicely into rehab, a day after her father told E! Online that the starlet is hooked to booze and the prescription painkiller OxyContin. "She's happy where she is and is just taking time to herself to learn and be okay," said the friend. "I've been in touch with her and she likes it... She's so much in the public eye 24 hours a day that she's gotten so caught up. I think she surrounds herself with good people generally, but all the pressure that she's around has created this alternate universe in a way and it's hard for her to stay grounded... She just needs to be away from everyone and not get attacked by the paparazzi. She's doing really, really well," he added. "She probably should be there and it will be the best for her. I think she's ready for it." As for her next movie project, Poor Things, which was scheduled to begin filming today in LA - both producers and co-star Shirley MacLaine are willing to wait. "In the spirit of helping Lindsay Lohan and her rehabilitation, we have been asked by Lindsay to comply with her wishes to continue working on Poor Things," MacLaine and a producer said in a statement released today. "We are trying to arrange the shooting schedule to facilitate her working at the end of the shoot to coincide with the completion of her rehabilitation. We wish her love and the blending of mind, body and spirit."

Lohan was allegedly due to check into Promises in Malibu on Monday afternoon, following a night of partying at a 944 Magazine event Sunday night at Teddy's - where she reportedly insisted she didn't care about the consequences of her DUI arrest earlier this weekend. According to the mag, the actress was photographed "seeming to be out of it in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson."

Reports may be circulating that Nicole Richie is back in rehab, but her rep insists the Simple Life star is doing fine at home. The National Enquirer and Star mag claim Richie is getting outpatient treatment for anorexia and substance abuse from the Beau Monde Treatment Center in Corona Del Mar, and are running pictures of the skinny star entering the facility on May 19. "We figured Nicole's publicist would try to deny this," says a source. "We have excellent sources, though." According to the tabs, Richie checked into rehab on May 11. "And yes, she's at home now," says the source. "As we wrote the story, she's now getting outpatient treatment." Britney Spears's most recent ex-boyfriend Isaac Cohen spoke to People mag this weekend about the popstar's recent troubles, saying, "I was definitely surprised that she went into rehab. I didn't feel it had come to that, but you know, if that's what it takes and if that's what she needs." Cohen said he hasn't spoken to his former girlfriend since he spilled a few intimate details about their relationship to a British newspaper about a month ago, but says he thinks she's made the right decision. "It's the best thing for her, her children - for everyone around her, actually. She's a strong girl and I really feel that she'll be okay."

Following his show at Paris Fashion Week, the 38-year-old made the decision to seek treatment for drug and alcohol abuse after being sober for seven years. "Marc made the right decision," his business party told Women's Wear Daily. "He'd been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away... According to the experts, such a relapse isn't uncommon. Thankfully, Marc recognized the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him."

Sorry...another KFed story. Federline paid another visit to estranged wife Britney Spears in rehab yesterday morning, and brought along sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to see their mom. "It seems like Britney is struggling being away from Sean P. and Jayden because Kevin let her spend four hours with the kids," says a source. Federline arrived at Promises in Malibu at six a.m. yesterday morning and returned home around 10:30. Spears was reportedly allowed to spend an hour away from the rehab facility at her Malibu home on Tuesday night while her bodyguards fended off paparazzi.

Whatever works, Brit!

Idol judge Simon Cowell has pointed his finely-tuned criticism at Britney Spears and Robbie Williams, slamming them for checking into rehab when there are millions of people suffering real hardship in the world. Cowell recently visited an impoverished country and, after bearing witness to the horrific living conditions there, says Spears and Williams have no idea what serious problems are. "This whole thing is a total indulgence. Britney and Robbie need to get a grip," Cowell says. "I don't know what's going on in Britney's head but my attitude is I couldn't care less. She should go back and live with her mum for six months... I went to a deprived part of the world recently... It really opened my eyes. You can feel sorry for yourself over the smallest things, but then you look at the world and you think, 'I've got nothing to complain about.' So when I hear about the Robbies and the Britneys going into rehab, I think, 'I'll tell you what rehab is. Go to where I just went, where people are really suffering and then you'll see just how good your life is.' I mean Britney is not working in a coal mine, is she? You are whisked to the studio in a very large limo, you are flown around in private jets, everyone will agree with you and physically making an album is a doddle."
A smiling Britney Spears was seen heading to an AA meeting in Santa Monica last night. With her newly-shorn head covered by a wig and cap, the popstar made her way to the meeting with an assistant, and reportedly returned to Promises in Malibu when it was over.
Britney Spears has reportedly booked an entire wing Promises in Malibu in the hopes of recovering with a little privacy. "She wants all the rooms on her wing," a source told a British paper. "It will cost hundreds of thousands." Who can blame her? Whatever works. Sources tell TMZ that doctors at the rehab think Spears may be suffering from post-partum depression or bipolar disorder, and that alcohol and/or drugs have been the popstar's way of coping with her problems.

Fellow Promises patient Daniel Baldwin describes Britney Spears as "a little fearful" after meeting the popstar in Malibu. "I told her if she needed anything or if she wanted me to bring anything to her where she's at, I'd be happy to come see her," Baldwin said at an Oscar party this weekend. "She's doing great, she looks great. She seemed like she was a little fearful. I mean, she's a young girl - I have kids older than her. I think that she knows that she needs some help, and God bless her. All we can do is pray. That is what I want people to do. Pray for her... One thing I mentioned to her is if you took a look at how much effort you put into going out - at least for me - going out and using and doing the things we do, compared to how much effort you need to do to stay sober, it's infinitesimal on a comparison basis." Boy I bet she's glad she's getting advice from this guy...
