Gearing up to hit the road for the big holiday weekend? Or planning your annual family vacation? What should you pack for your kids?
Jenny Cooper, head designer of crewcuts (a fave of Suri Cruise, SJP's kids and the Obama girls) is a stylish mom and master packer. (Check out the proud mom pictured below with 9-year-old Walker and 6-year-old Miller.) Today, Jenny shares her five vacation must-haves.
1. California Baby sunscreen and sunscreen stick, because my kids HATE sunscreen and for some reason find the stick application is less frightening. I don't know why they are deathly afraid of lotion!
2. A Trilby, to shade them from the sun AND make them look like they just stepped off a movie set - the eyelet flower for girls and the stripe band for boys.
3. Sunglasses, obviously - the Selima Aviator for boys and the Ecole for girls. I love the old school glamour of the Ecole for a little dress-up on the beach.
4. Since they need swim trunks, we make one modeled on our club short - a quick-drying cotton nylon that they can play in AND go swimming in, without pausing to change! Walker and Miller LOVE that idea. It's called the mini-diamond swim short. Fortunately, we also made them for men so their dad can do the same, but I would get him the microstripe swim short so they don't match.
5. Last but not least would have to be the Holga camera so they can take pictures of their sandcastles!!!
DON'T FORGET THE MOMS
And then for me, it would have to be the Lemlem Grace tunic. It's the perfect thing to toss over your polka dot high waisted bikini (another current obsession!). So lightweight and airy with a graphic stripe.
