AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE
American Ballet Theatre Premieres The Bright Stream at the Metropolitan Opera House.

A comic masterpiece, choreographer Alexei Ratmansky's The Bright Stream celebrates the illusory nature of love with mistaken identities, hilarious deceptions, and happy resolutions. Ratmansky plumbs the genius of Dmitri Shostakovich's vivid folk music to reveal the soul of his actor-dancers with a zest for deft characterization in movement.

"Laughter rings out across the theater at this farce and its pranks. It's good to see it once; it's better–and funnier–to see it twice." —The New York Times

LINCOLN CENTER FESTIVAL
A Magic Flute
A Free Adaptation by Peter Brook.

The legendary Peter Brook, whose transformative productions The Mahabharata and La Tragédie de Carmen shaped an entire generation of theatergoers, presents the coda of his career: a vivacious, not-to-be-missed new interpretation of Die Zauberflöte.

This intimate adaptation strips the work's usual ornamentation to reveal the impish, effervescent heart of Mozart's masterpiece. A gorgeously simple staging features just a single piano and seven highly talented young singers, who—under Brook's subtle directing—fill Mozart's score with new humanity and color.

NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
Spanish Paradise: Gardens of the Alhambra.

Poets called it "a pearl among emeralds"—its shining walls towering above the woods of Andalusia. Today, we call this sublime union of art, garden, and citadel Alhambra. This summer, experience the essence of the Alhambra in New York City in an exhibition that combines flora, poetry, music, and more.

Through August 21

ROYAL DANISH BALLET
Limited Engagement—Six Performances Only, June 14-19.

Exquisite timing. It's at the heart of our history and also our dance. Founded more than two and a half centuries ago, with a singular repertory of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary masterpieces, the Royal Danish Ballet is renowned for its captivating and thought-provoking style. Now, with an historic appearance at Lincoln Center, the Royal Danish Ballet comes to New York for the first time in more than 20 years. It's a limited engagement–so time is indeed of the essence.

You've waited more than 20 years to see them. Miss the Royal Danish Ballet this time, and you may regret it for the next 20 years.
